Fibropapillomatosis (FP)

FP is a disease that has been spotted on all turtles except the leatherback. FP is mostly seen on green sea turtles. Scientists do not know what is causing this disease and how to cure it. Some say that pollution is causing the disease. Just in case it is please refrain from littering in the ocean and sea. 22.2% of green sea turtles are dying because of FP. FP can also cause permanent blindness on sea turtles making it hard to see their prey and hard to eat if it has no food. FP is not commonly seen on loggerheads and the Kemp's ridleys about 1% and 2% die of it. FP can also cause permanent blindness on sea turtles. FP was discovered in 1938 in Florida on green sea turtles. FP is usually found on the base of the flippers, close to the eye, and around its neck. Please warn people about FP. I will put a link to a website about FP where I got this information(P.S. I will put a pic of FP on sea turtles too.)
